30 STEM Ambassador hours

At the end of 2023, I received a STEM Ambassador award for volunteering 30 hours to the STEM Ambassador programme.

About STEM Ambassadors

STEM Ambassadors is a fantastic volunteer programme that has been running for over 20 years. There are over 28,000 individuals who offer their time, passion, and energy to visit schools, colleges, and youth group organisations to deliver requests from teachers and youth group leaders who want to link STEM subjects to the real world of work.

Why I became a STEM Ambassador

For me personally, I found it difficult to know where my future lay in high school. I see this with my daughters too, it is very daunting to have such huge decisions to make at such a young age. I want to help young people understand the opportunities that are available to them, and to help them understand that they can achieve anything they want to.

Becoming a STEM Ambassador

Volunteering as a STEM Ambassador is a fantastic way to spend your time. For young people, knowing that industry experts want to help them excel, springboards them into the next chapter of their lives. You do not need to have a background in education, the programme offers training and support so you can confidently deliver a range of activities.
