MCSE: Data Management and Analytics

MCSE: Data Management and Analytics

Challenge met

In May, I set a target of obtaining accreditation as a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert in Data Management and Analytics by the end of June. I really wanted to pick up this accreditation because whilst Microsoft will put an end to these exams in 2021, they remain valid for 3 years and there’s a fair amount of value (in my opinion) in capping off my 15 years experience with this cert to compliment some of the newer role-based certifications designed around the Azure platform.

Earlier this month, I achieved the first milestone, obtaining certification as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate in SQL 2016 Business Intelligence Development which I blogged about here .

Exam 70-762

This exam is intended for database professionals who build and implement databases across organizations and who ensure high levels of data availability. Their responsibilities include creating database files, data types, and tables; planning, creating, and optimizing indexes; ensuring data integrity; implementing views, stored procedures, and functions; and managing transactions and locks.

Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert achieved

Two exams down, one to go! So with just under three weeks to go, I just had to sit one more exam. The subject matter was arguably the heaviest material of the three exams (although anyone who has touched MDX might argue differently!), but this week I sat and passed my final exam obtaining the accreditation as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in Data Management and Analytics.
