In May, I set a target of obtaining accreditation as a Microsoft Certified Solution Expert in Data Management and Analytics by the end of June. I really wanted to pick up this accreditation because whilst Microsoft will put an end to these exams in 2021, they remain valid for 3 years and there’s a fair amount of value (in my opinion) in capping off my 15 years experience with this cert to compliment some of the newer role-based certifications designed around the Azure platform.
Exam 70-767: Implementing a Data Warehouse using SQL
This exam is intended for extract, transform, and load (ETL) and data warehouse developers who create business intelligence (BI) solutions. Their responsibilities include data cleansing, in addition to ETL and data warehouse implementation.
Exam 70-768: Developing SQL Data Models
This exam is intended for business intelligence (BI) developers who focus on creating BI solutions that require implementing multidimensional data models, implementing and maintaining OLAP cubes, and implementing tabular data models.
Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate SQL 2016 Business Intelligence Development
This certification validates your extract, transform, and load (ETL) and data warehouse skills, along with those for implementing BI solutions using multidimensional and tabular data models and online analytical processing (OLAP) cubes.
Next up MCSE!
With two exams done, the final objective is to cap off the MCSA with a third exam in order to obtain Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert certification.
